Kairi woke up that morning and had breakfast. She couldn't wait to get started on her journey. She had already decided to start out with a water type Pokemon. Or maybe an ice type since ice types are water types as well. "I am going to master the water Pokemon!" Kairi said to herself getting all excited to start her journey. After she had eaten she said,"Well mom I'm leaving!"

"Ok!" Her mother called from the living room. She was watching the news. She was waiting to see what the weather was going to be like today. Kairi grabbed her backpack and left her house heading for the lab.

When she got there she noticed that the lab was on top of a big hill,"Oh no! It's going to take me forever to make it up all those steps!" Kairi sighed. Well, she figured she might as well get going then. She wouldn't get anywhere by just standing around. Kairi started walking up all those steps.

It was very hot that morning and Kairi started sweating about halfway up to the top. She sighed and leaned up against a tree,"This is much harder then I thought," she said breathing heavy. She took out a bottled water out of her bag and poured some over her head and drank some as well.

Kairi decided to sit down and rest a bit before continuing on. She noticed a few Wingull flying overhead,"It must be there matting season," she thought with a grin. Pretty soon Kairi would be free just like those Wingull to start her training journey.

Anyway after about an hour's rest Kairi got back up again and continued up the long flight of steps. The lab still looked very far away. "I'm not getting anywhere! And my feet hurt!" Kairi complained out loud. Even though there was no one around to hear her.

Kairi would have to conplain to the Professor about building his lab on top of so many steps and expecting people to climb all of them. Kairi figured that maybe this was a test for trainers and coordinators to see if they could handle the long Pokemon journey ahead of them.

"Well, if this is a test it's a very hard one," Kairi sighed out of breath. About two hours later she had finally made it up to the top. She was sweating very badly by then and panting like a Growlithe. She walked weakly over to the lab's doors and rung the door bell.

"I'm...*pant*...here for*pant pant*....my first Pokemon," Kairi stepped inside. She ran over and got some water before the Professor could offer it to her,"Anyway, I'd like to see what different types of water type Pokemon you have. See I love water Pokemon and not only am I going to be a Coordinator I also want to master water Pokemon." Kairi explained. She sit down on Professor Kayle's couch and waited for him to get the Pokemon that she requested to see. Kairi couldn't wait to meet all of them. She'd make up her mind which one to go with after she'd seen all of them.

"Thanks a lot!" Kairi said. unlike everyone else, on the way out Kairi grabbed the Starter Pack before it could be offered to her,"Thanks for the stuff," she said. Kairi was in a very big hurry to leave. She walked out of the lab leaving a very confused Professor there.
